Advance tickets for Planet Comicon 2013 are now available for sale. Please follow the link below in order to make your purchase.
PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW RELATING TO TICKETS TO PLANET COMICON!
Advance tickets will be sold until midnight on Sunday, March 17th, through the website. Tickets will continue to be on sale at local vendors until Wednesday, March 20th. After that time, they will only be available for sale at the event.
Weekend passes for adults are being sold at a discounted rate of $35.00. All other advance ticket prices will be the same as on-site pricing.
Advance tickets are available for sale ONLY through Paypal. Paypal accepts all major credit cards. If you do not already have a Paypal account set up, you will need to create one in order to make your purchase.
Online advance tickets purchased through this site are sold on a “Will Call” basis. You WILL NOT be mailed a physical ticket. This is NOT an e-ticket. You WILL receive an e-mail confirmation. You may print this confirmation and bring it to the venue. It is always best to bring the e-mail confirmation, though it is not necessary if the person picking up the tickets is the person who made the purchase. The person picking up the tickets may be required to show identification.
We will have “Will Call” windows set up in the lobby near the escalators to Exhibit Hall D at Bartle Hall on the days of the event where you may pick up your ticket(s). Purchasers of weekend passes will be issued a wrist band, which will allow for admission to Planet Comicon on both days.
If the person picking up the tickets is not the person who made the purchase, you should notify us so we may arrange to have the correct name on the envelope containing those tickets. In that event, it is also best that the person picking up the ticket(s) bring the e-mail confirmation of the ticket purchase.
All tickets to this event are NON-REFUNDABLE unless the event (the total event) is cancelled. This is extraordinarily unlikely. Tickets are NOT refundable due to cancellation of the appearance of any particular guest or combination of guests. Planet Comicon has a history of very few guest cancellations, however any guest may cancel at any time due to a personal or professional conflict. We will announce any cancellations promptly on our web-site.
All tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE. They can be used only by the purchaser and cannot be resold. Each ticket is good for a single attendee.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are attending to meet a particular guest or guests, and if you would not attend if that guest or those guests did not appear, we suggest you DO NOT purchase your tickets in advance. If a guest or combination of guests cancels your ticket(s) is NOT refundable. Tickets are always available at the door. You will be able to get in to the event. We do not anticipate that the facility will reach capacity (which is quite large!).
If you have questions that have not been covered, please post them below, and we will do our best to provide helpful responses.
Will there be a Magic:the Gathering tournament?
There will not. Sorry.
Is there any kind of appearance schedule for the people who are to be attending? I.e. is actor “x” going to available all day both days, or is he/she only appearing from 2pm til 4pm Sunday… If, as you mentioned, my intention is to see one person it wouldn’t be prudent to buy tickets for both days (not that it wouldn’t be fun and not that I won’t anyway)
Also just FYI I was having a hard time deciding on this show, or Wizard World in St Louis with Stan Lee till you added the other guests… Now this show is the clear winner, Thanks!
All guests will appear both days unless otherwise noted. And we’re not finished with guest announcements just yet, Matthew.
How about press passes?
How about them? Contact chris@planetcomicon.com. He’ll decide on a case-by-case basis.
I will review all requests for press passes and respond. Chris Jackson
Will there be opportunities for autographs? Or do you have to purchase a special pass for autographs?
Most guests will be available to sign at their tables. As a general rule, creator guests will not charge for autographs (excluding Neal Adams), but you should expect to pay for an autograph from any media guest.
Expanding on a bit on the information Justin provided, all celebrity guests will be signing autographs and all of those guests are scheduled to appear both days. Most guests will be at their tables during much of the show except for breaks or other obligations around the show (such as attending their panel). You do not need a special pass. All celebrity guests will charge for their autographs so be sure to save up. It is always much easier if you have cash for purchases, though some may accept credit cards (not all will accept them, however).
At the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo last week, there was an option for any out-of-state people who could not attend the event to pay for an autograph and send their item-to-be-signed in, and then have it mailed back to them after the con. Is there any sort of arrangement like that for this convention?
Unfortunately, there isn’t. That could be something we consider for future shows, but we won’t be tackling it this year.
How do you do the children that get in free. I will purchase my ticket in advance but am I assured my son will get in?
We’ll have additional details coming up in regard to children under 10, but we’ll make it as easy as possible for you. Unless he’s as tall as you are, there shouldn’t be any problem.
I have never been to one of these. How much does a guest usually charge for their autograph? And i assume that will be all sorts of vendors and not just comic books. Sorry if my questions are silly.
There are no silly questions, only my silly answers. As a general rule, creator guests do not charge for their autograph, with the exception of Neal Adams. You should be safe budgeting between $20 and $40 each for autographs from media guests. There will be no shortage of other merchandise–beyond comic books–on hand to tempt your wallet.
Will you be able to leave the venue to get food and return using the same ticket?
We’ll have something in place that will allow people with single-day passes to leave and come back on the same day.
If we have ordered advanced tickets, in this case being for both Saturday and Sunday, as well as printed said tickets, will we be required to use the wristband that weekend pass holders get, or will the printed tickets suffice to get us into the venue (as well as get us in 30 min early, if we are still allowed such a privilege)?
If you purchased advance tickets online, you will need to pick up your wristbands at will call on Saturday. Stay tuned for more details on early admission.
Hi Chris,
I look forward to this year’s Planet Comicon. I have a huge Surprise for George Takei. I have three photos of him from a convention in Dallas in 1977 when I did a short interview with him and Ted Cassidy who was on a couple of episodes of Star Trek. He was better known as Lurch. I’m bringing George copies for his own keeping.
(:

Will costuming group members still be able to purchase extra vendor passes Thursday night to allow early access for set up?
You may need to clarify this one for me. Nothing will available on Thursday night. Load-in won’t begin until Friday.
In the past costuming groups with tables were able to set up Thursday night, I don’t know if this has changed with the new venue. Will I be able to enter early to assist with the set up of my groups table without an exhibitor pass?
Last year, we had access to the facility on Thursday. This year, we will not. Load-in will occur on Friday only. If you have special circumstances, you can contact the promoter at chris@planetcomicon.com, but nothing will be happening at Bartle Hall before Friday.
Is there a way to have the confirmation email resent? I think it got bounced or I deleted it, but I see that the payment went through in paypal. Thanks!
Is this for an advance ticket purchase or for artist alley space, Megan?
Advanced ticket purchase.
Megan, you won’t need the confirmation email. As long as the tickets were purchased in your name, you’ll just need to bring picture ID to claim your tickets at will call.
Great! Thanks. I thought so, but didn’t know if the e-mail would make it easier.
So… the local comic book stores listed above will have tickets on sale till March 20th. Will that be the discount price for the adult weekend pass through March 20th?
Yes.
Thanks. That’s good to know.
I have never been to one of these before, but can no longer pass up the opportunity to meet and have a few items signed by Neal Adams. Does anyone know how many items you can have him sign at once? If only one at a time, will I be able to cycle back through a few times? Will he be willing to take a picture with the person?
As a general rule, most creators will sign 3 items at a time. They will then ask that you go the back of the line, in order to keep things moving. However, this could be different with Mr. Adams. Bear in mind, that he will be charging for autographs ($10 each). Ask him about the photo, but you’re probably good.
is ecerything the same both days? trying to decied if i should go both days or not?
Not even close. Check out the info under the EVENTS tab. It should give you a better idea of what’s going on each day.
Clint’s isn’t selling tickets still. Though the “Please read the following :!!” section stated retail locations will be selling till the 20th.
This was an error on our part. Tickets will be available through Wednesday, March 20th. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Went to Clint’s and they had tickets and they were nice about the confusion. They have 2 day and Sunday tickets remaining.
I just found out about this and missed my chance to buy advanced tickets. I live in Manhattan, KS and was wondering can door tickets sell out? I would hate to drive the 2 hours just to find out my no tickets are available.
You’ll be find, Chad. We won’t sell out.
So, I understand that the comic shops are no longer selling advanced tickets, but can I still buy weekend passes through this website? If not, will weekend passes be available at the door?
At this time, weekend passes are only available for sale at the venue on the Saturday of the event.
Is there an active duty military discount?
Not at this time. Sorry.
If I missed my chance to buy advance tickets, and I buy them at the door, are the prices for the weekend passes for youth still $10?
The only difference in pricing will be for the adult weekend pass. It will be $40 at the door. Everything else remains the same.
How much will tickets be at the door ?
The post on which you are commenting provides all the details.
I purchased 2 weekend passes and my friend passed away. I have lined up a friend for each day, but neither can attend both days. Are wristbands transferable from one friend to another?
Thanks.
Wristbands are non-transferable. Given the special circumstances, I would contact the promoter directly at chris@planetcomicon.com for a resolution.
Do tickets go on sale at the same time as the con starts, or will the ticket booths be open earlier?
Thanks,
Tickets will go on sale Saturday morning at 8:30AM.
What forms of payment are accepted when purchasing tickets at the door? (i.e., do we need cash?)
Cash or credit.
What time will tickets start being sold at the window Saturday morning?
Tickets will go on sale at 8:30 AM on Saturday.
Are there any restrictions on cameras or photography ?
No, but I would be considerate of others and always ask permission first.
OK. Thank you.
Can youth tickets be purchased with out an adult pass and can a child with a youth ticket get in with out an adult?
Yes to both, though you should be aware that we are expecting thousands of attendees.
Can you take pictures with cell phones with the celebrity or do you have to pay for a professional
Follow the link.
I see that children under 10 get in free, and that there is a price for kids 11 and up, but where does my 10 year old son fall on that? Will I need to purchase him a ticket? Or does he fall into the free category?
Children 10 and under are free.
I just need a Saturday ticket for my 12 y/o son. Is that something that is offered? If so, how much?
The youth ticket (11-15) is a flat rate of $10 for the whole weekend.
Will photo ID be needed when purchasing the ticket the day of(at the door)?
Why would we do that? No.
